BeamFi Privacy Policy

Introduction

At BeamFi ("we," "us," or "our"), we understand the importance of privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information of our users ("you" or "your"). This Privacy Policy outlines the types of data we collect from our users, the reasons for collecting it, and how we handle it. By using our app, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.


Data Collection and Permissions

When you use our app, we may collect various types of information, including personal information that can be used to identify you. To use our app, you may need to grant certain permissions that allow us to access and collect data from your device. The types of data we collect and the permissions you may need to grant include:


Account Information: In order to use BeamFi, you will need to create a wallet account in Plug Wallet Chrome extension. We collect information such as Plug Wallet principal to identity yourself. This information is necessary to provide you with our services and to identify you within our app.


User Activity Tracking: Our app tracks user activities to improve the functionality and user experience of our services. Examples of activities we track include:


a. Pages visited within the app

b. Actions performed, such as button clicks and form submissions


Device Information: We may collect information about your device, such as the type of device, operating system, and app version, to help us improve compatibility and performance.


Permission to access backend from Plug:

At the first time when you use BeamFi through Plug, BeamFi app will request you to grant permission to access BeamFi smart contract Canisters from Plug and connect to the frontend app. This is required in order for the app to function and to provide service to you.


Permission to access your Zoom account:

BeamFi has a feature to stream payment when you start a meeting with others. In order for this to function, BeamFi has backend integration to Zoom through Webhook. For this to work, user who will create Beam Meeting Link and host a meeting will need to add "BeamFi Meeting App" to their Zoom account first. User guide can be found at https://beamfi.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/51000335010-beamfi-zoom-app-user-guide. You will be asked for granting permission for scope meeting:read, meeting:write and user_zak:read in order for BeamFi to function and provide service to you.


Managing and Controlling Permissions

You have the ability to manage and control the permissions you have granted to our app. To do so, follow these steps:


Open the Plug Wallet Chrome extension.

Navigate to the "Apps" menu.

Find BeamFi icon.

Click on the delete button.

Please note that some features may not function properly after BeamFi is deleted from Plug Apps.


Data Access, Collection, Use, Maintenance, and Sharing

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, as well as to communicate with you, personalize your experience, and protect our users. We may share your information with third-party service providers who assist us in these endeavors, but we do not sell your personal information to third parties. 


BeamFi uses Splitbee.io for web analytics to improve the functions of our app. Splitbee will never sells or shares data to 3rd party. More information is available at https://splitbee.io/compare/splitbee-vs-google-analytics.


Data Subject Access Rights

As a user of our app, you have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:


Access your personal information that we hold.

Request correction or deletion of your personal information.
